Dr. Charlotte Hatfield presently serves at Washington State Community College as a consultant to the college. Charlotte Hatfield previously acted as President of the college, which is located in Marietta, Ohio, from July of 2002 until May of 2011. As President, she led the school, which provides 31 degrees and 25 certificate programs, ensuring its financial stability and overseeing the construction and planning of numerous extensions to the college’s campus. Charlotte Hatfield currently serves as the Board Chair of the Memorial Health System which includes a two hospitals, a nursing home, a retirement center, and a large group of employed physicians. Before serving as President of Washington State Community College, Charlotte Hatfield held the position of Executive Dean, Elkhart Campus, Ivy Tech State College. For two years, she was responsible for overseeing many essential aspects of the school, such as academic planning, finances, marketing and community relations. Prior to leading the Elkhart campus, Charlotte Hatfield served as Executive Director for Public Relations and Marketing at Ivy Tech State College, where she put into effect system-wide communication programs and initiatives for the 23-campus college, and managed a budget of over $1 million. She also coordinated video productions, special events, branding, marketing and public relations. Other positions Charlotte Hatfield has held include Director of Communication at Best Access Systems, Manager of Media and Public Relations at Methodist Health Group Inc., Director of Communication at Junior Achievement USA, and Associate Professor of Journalism at Ball State University in Indiana. Charlotte Hatfield received her Doctor of Philosophy in the Community College Leadership Program from the University of Texas at Austin, where she also received her Bachelor's and Master’s in Journalism. Her first degree is from Hutchinson Community College in Kansas.
